Sarah Porter letters to Mrs. Smith, ca. 1869, undated.

Two letters written by Sarah Porter, the founder of Miss Porter's School in Farmington, Connecticut, to the mother of one student who was evidently leaving the school after spending several years there. The letters are addressed to Mrs. Smith, possibly Mrs. A.H. Smith, about her daughter Annie. The second letter, which may predate the one with the year 1869 penciled in after the month and day, referred to finding a place for her daughter to board with Mr. and Mrs. Norton.
